Default Spraying a big shot-- Buidling the Head

If i were to direct port my ls-- w/out building up the block, would it be wise to bulid up the head w/ new valves, springs, etc?? Cas' the main problem i've heard w/ people spraying alot is burning the valves. What do you think? i was thinking of running a 75-100 wet direct port on NX

You dont need to touch the head, when only using a 100 shot.

All of the burnt valves I have witnessed have been caused by lean conditions.
I know a guy who burnt 3 valves in 3 months because he was running a b16a and a dry 70 shot using stock dx injectors .
He finally switched to a wet kit and hasnt had a problem since.

How should you tune a set up like this?

Back off base timing about three degrees, Check the A/F ratios on a dyno on the NOS and close the spark plug gap down to like 28 or so and run a colder plug, probably like a ZFR6F-11 or a Zex plug. Make sure your A/F's are High 11's or low 12's to be on the conservative side on pump gas.

Good Luck!

well if ya need the nx dp , i get pretty good prices on them.
as far as head work on ur setup, id only seet it beneficial when goin above a 100 shot. itd probably be better if you wanted any head work done to port the head because stock ls heads dont flow too well in the upper rpms. head work is expsive, id just go get some rods n pistons...spray 100 shot no worries and go to 125 as well. while ur there, just replace the springs on the head to dual springs..thats a killer setup!. feel free to aim me at robycold if ya want to know some prices/options. if your serious about it ill hook ya up.
