i don't think that will be safe with that chip. That chip is probably setup for all motor and has far advanced timing.

^^^^i agree totally with MShue. all motor chips especially spoon and skunk chips are set to advance timing rather than keeping it stock.

yea just try running a stock chip and reduce the timing a little.

really depends upon how much nos u run if its 55shot i think its about 2 deg, if its the 75shot then retard timing by 4 deg.

and also dnt use the spoon chip because the advanced timing of the chip will cause u to detonate! just put in a 75 hp the gains from the chip will be minimal compared to what u will gain from the nos

i dont have a choice! i have to rev to 9k and i have 1 wire vtec. i snapped the throttle up to vtec and the timing never went over 26 deg. if i just keep the dizzy backed off all the way it runs like **** down low but it advances it up high, but not too high. what do you think?

known fact:

my car with the stock chip and 55 shot is just as fast as all motor with spoon chip. it starts to pull as it hits rev limit with stock chip.

I don't want to tell you to do or not to do anything but I had this problem with my hatch that i had. Had a mugen based chip in a p28, 92 hatch, b16a2 engine, zex 75shot. retarded timing 8 degrees at the distributor, good gas (94 octane) and a bottle of nos octane booster. I ran the car i'd say at least 25-30 passes at different times. car never had any problems, ran great. Maybe it was just my luck, but "I ran a 75 shot with an all motor chip with no problems" I also think that the extra fuel that the chip gave made a difference. Just make sure your fuel sytem is all good. It's all about keeping an eye on what is happening, as long as you can prevent detonation i think you would be fine. oh and watching egt's help too, being able to watch them makes a big difference.

Good luck!

so your problem with the stock chip is that you just can't rev it all the way out? Thats simple to fix. Just modify a stock .bin in uberdata with a raised rev limiter.

i tried that and it wouldnt work. i just put the timing at 14 and sprayed a 55 shot at the track. 55 doesnt really do anything. im better off leaving the timing all high and racing all motor.

all motor varied from 14.01 to 14.3 @ ~101mph. 55 shot varied from 13.5 - 13.8 @ ~ 104.

heres my slip, 55 dry 9000rpm shift vs all motor 9600rpm / power shift.

motor
.558 RT
2.34 60'
9.324 @ 83.6mph 1/8
14.02 @ 102.4mph 1/4

nos
.440 RT
2.26 60'
9.116 @ 84.17 1/8
13.79 @ 103.0mph 1/4

why wouldn't that work? Your problem is that the stock program won't let you rev it all the way out correct?

dude...that's bullshit. i don't care if your car is fully modded or not. a chip that isn't created for your car's specs will not make your car faster than a 55shot of nitrous unless you hooked it up wrong. advancing your timing and adding fuel will not give you the 40 or so WHP a 55 shot of nitrous will. and that sir is a proven fact!!

why dont you learn how to read. my cars max power is at 8800rpm and having an 8200rpm rev limit with nitrous will make is slower than 9500 rpm all motor. i know this so dont call it bullshit.

dude...whatever man. raising your freaken redline from 8200 to 9600 will not even give you close to the power a 55shot of nitrous would. you must be doing something wrong if you're thinking that you'd be faster going all motor.

but think about my situation.

8200 rev limit, timing retarted like crazy (from spoon chip) and cold plugs with 50 shot.

9500 rev limit, timing set at 18* with spoon chip and hot plugs.

it felt like a slug with the 50 shot and it finally started to pull up towards 8 then I had to shift. It only gave me torque. when all motor, its just constantly screaming all the way down the track. what i need is a wet kit or direct port with stock fuel and timing.

also, i did go a tiny bit faster with the 50 shot, but it was so minimal it was a waste of nitrous. If you look at the times, the only gain was the toruqe.
