what should the spark plug gap be at when running a boosted motor? ignition has been upgraded to an msd sci, blaster 3 coil, msd wires, and msd modified cap.

i've heard the gap should be smaller, but then i hear the gap should be bigger so it will burn the fuel better?

any thoughts on this?

 

.030 ....thirty thousandths. This is so that the air will not blow out the spark

 

depends on how much boot your runing.
5psi you will be fine with it at about .036
20psi it will need to be more like .028 give or take...

I run mine at .034 stock ignition with msd 6-al

 

8-10 lbs of boost on the motor.

 

Start big and close gap till you stop hearing it miss, or visa versa

if you just do .030 then you'll prolly end up with .032 or .031 b/c it's really hard to gap the plug perfectly. well at least it is for me
