Default Someone save my cars life. Im about to take out the hammer.

I have had it with this car. Ive put so much work into it this year and Im running into problem after problem. Ive run out of patience. Im gonna destroy the POS soon.

Im stumped. I have absolutely no oil pressure. Its a rebuilt d16z6. The oil pump is a brand new OEM pump. I tried turning it over with no fuel to build pressure, nothing. So I poured some oil down my feed line, nothing. Finally I took the cap out of the oil pump and pumped oil in. Still nothing. WTF!

Im cranking about 5 seconds at a time and there is no sign of oil pressure. Im afraid of toasting my bearing at this point.

WTF IS GOING ON!?!??!

Thats what I had to do. It wasnt building pressure cranking for 5 secs. I cranked it up and within like 2 secs it had full pressure

pull your oil filter and see if you have any oil. If your aren't getting oil pressure, depending on where you put your pressure guage, you won't have any oil in your feed line either, for an obvious reason.

You've done more damage cranking it over 5 billion times dry than just starting it for 5 seconds. Assembly lube doesnt stay on the bearings forever.

Start it up, and like muckman said, if you dont have pressure in 5 seconds, shut it down. 5 seconds is a long time but I generally dont see pressure till about 3 seconds after I start my car because if where I have my sensor placed.

We've all been in this boat. You just have to man up and start it. I was so scared I just about crapped my pants when I started mine for the first time.

By the way, cranking it over isn't supposed to actually build pressure - it's supposed to cut down on the time it takes to build pressure once you actually start the motor. I've never seen pressure register by just cranking it over.

yeah, cranking cold, your not spinning very many RPM's.

if everthing is put together correctly, you WILL have oil pressure.

well you should be able to get some pressure just cranking it...after a number of cranks it will produce pressure in the feed line for the turbo.

Even with a finger over the open end of the feedline there isnt even a pulsing.

it may be a dumb question, but do you have oil in the car?

hahaha. That's the answer! People are such pansies with their cars. I had a 88 prelude that wouldn't die so I drained all the oil out of it and drove it on the hottest day of the year and it still wouldn't die. I popped the clutch from 8k 5 times and still went. I finally just gave up and drove it to the junkyard. Now go start your ******* car!

Ahh **** now Ive just had someone tell me that they got a good amount of oil coming out their feed line on their last three engine while cold cranking. That does not make me feel any more confident about just starting it up.

It took me about a min. of cranking on a new motor for the oil light to go off ( i didn't have a pressure gauge) .. then once it went out i just hooked up the dizzy, fuel and started it .. runs fine now

Just start it already! If you dont get oil pressure in 5 seconds, then shut it off. I highly doubt that running it for that amount of time will toast your engine or your turbo. Did you take the valve cover and filter off and crank it to see if oil spews all over the place yet?
