Default Some problems on initial start up. Please take a look. :)

All right, here is the problem. When I am cranking to start, it will just pop and bang and never really start. But after I turn OFF (yes I said off) my fuel pump it will start but idle REALLY rough, but as soon as I turn the pump back on it will die again. I turned down my AEM FPR as far as it goes but can't get the fuel pressure below 40. I think it is just running way to rich. I have absolutelly no idea how or why it would run when the pump is turned off. I am pretty sure it has something to do with my basemap but then again I don't really know that either. Has anyone had a similiar problem? My fuel system consists of an Aeromotive running SS lines to and from the rail, 1000cc injectors and an AEM regulator....controlled by Hondata3b. -Ryan

Contact mase. He may be able to give you a good base map from vic's car. He is running 1000CC injectors with hondata.

Thanks I will try that. I think my current basemap is for 840's or around that...I was thinking, if the basemap is set for 840's running at say 60% duty then wouldn't it make my 1000's run at 60% duty therefore WAY overfueling?

Sounds to me like you have a vaccum leak somewhere in your fuel set-up. I would go back and check all of your fuel return lines to the tank. I have seen this happen before. Your lines need to be able to handle about 60psi and if they cant they can make a small split in a line and beleive it or not that can cause the car not to start/.

No leaks. I can up the pressure to ovewr 60 if I wanted to. Just can't get it below 40 since my pump flows so much.

Do you have a fuel return line from the fuel rail back to the tank?

Me and a bud of mine did a Cybernation Stage 2 on his RSX and the same thing happened to us. It started the 1st time and rean for 10min then it just cut off and would not crank, it would try but just pop and die. Thought it was rich as hell so I unplugged the fuel pump and let the factory one do its job.....it got better but still stumbled and died. Well after checking everything I decided to go back to the stock fuel pump and check the return line back into the tnak and sure enough it had a slip in it. Changed it out and bam started right up.

sounds like its drowning in fuel. turning off the pump, the car will still run for a bit. I ve tried. (residual fuel pressure in lines keeps the injectors squirting.)

and 60% duty on a 800cc injector isnt the same as 60% on 1000cc. think about it or correct me if I'm wrong
