Default Sohc turbo cooling issues

I used search and havent really found what i need...
i have a D16z6 in a 91 Hatch. Im running a stock ef radiator and having cooling issues. I am running a stock fan and also have a slim fan between radiator and intercooler on a switch. Now when i get on it hard its fiind but after a few good pulls on highway it starts to get hot like 3/4 or little more up the heat gauge and when i let off and coast for a bit or drive steady it goes back down. I also have had it start to get hot sitting there driiving lower rpms in town. Gets up to like 3/4 mark or more and starts to come down then goes back up.....Head gasket is good. I just am having issues. Could it be the turbo right next to the radiator. Think a dual core DA OR EG dohc vtec del sol radiator will work better? Will the d series hoses squeeze over the b series bigger holes in radiator??? Any help would be nice....Also have thought maybe air bubbles cuz normal driving or mild accelaration and some hard d riiving its fine......

When I had my turbo single cam in my ef i had a 99 civic radiator and mine did fine... I was having cooling issues also when i would go into boost or just regular driving, i found out it was my head lifting off the block single cams have a problem with that with stock head studs..... are you getting coolant in your overflow jug??

Get some ARP head studs and a new OEM headgasket. Back your timing down a little too. Hopefully this will solve your problem. It has worked for me so far.

Same thing happens to me. It's not the head lifting though. It doesn't do it when im boosting. It happens after. Sometimes it happens when im at idle as well. Turn off the car, turn it back on, it's fine.

same here, also does it once in a while just cruising at normal speeds in town . just sometimes, never gets in red....just gets hot and comes back down. Could it be air bubbles maybe??? does it under boost but not all the time.....if i let it cruise for a few and get on it a few times its fine. but if i keep on it it gets hotter......also like i said in c hicago it gets up there anad comes back down again and then it stays fine at times....confused

Try backing your timing down 2 degrees in the last 3 boost columns. I am only running 17 degrees total. Haven't had any issues since I changed my head gasket that last time.
