SOHC build up!?!
i'm in the process of building up my 92 SI motor for boost. i just got off the phone w/ JE and they said that they only offer SRP pistons for a sohc vtec motors. i heard that SRP pistons are not that great when you go over 12 psi of boost. is there any other companies that produce really good pistons for this motor for boost?
i just got off the phone w/ JE a couple of minutes ago. they said that they don't make JE pistons, only SRP's. any reputable companies that make good pistons?

well it has a aem cold air intake. and a apexi muffler. the rest is untouched, i'll probably have the video soon. for some reason this car moves more than every other SI hatch that i raced. i guess it's one of the special ones.
use toyota pistons... i foget who but they are running 18 psi on them???
the 4dr silver civic... w/ the link stuff(thats why he stuck in my head)
he had a pic posted w/ a hood gap at the windshield if you recall

wth...how does using supra pistons work? oh well when i do my build up ill be using eagle rods, srp pistons, race eng head gasket and block guard.......and the fuel...i dunno what to do about that yet.
ok, JE does make pistons for the sohc, but they have to be special order. they are not "off the shelf pistons" like the GSR. what about Arias, or Wiseco? are these good companies?
Yes Arias and Weisco's are some good pistons too, kinda pricey though. JE's do more than enough for the $$, but I guess if you've got the $$ to spend, some Ross or Aria's sure can't hurt.
what's the compression on these motors and what size are the pistons? does anyone know? what about the engine code?
...how does using supra pistons work?
they fit, they are cheap, (i think he pays about $25.00 each) and i believe they were designed for turbo use. (one of those old supras...i don't know too much about them)

So 75mm piston's, thanks
Oh BTW, the stock CR is 9.2:1 for the D16Z6, 9.6:1 for the D16Y8

About the Supra pistons, I do not recall much from what Nathan said, hopefully he'll see this and help us out.
yeah the supra pistons work, but he has to change every once in a while. he said that his only drawback is the pistons on his car. correct me if i'm wrong.
Actually, I *think* he uses MR2 pistons, but I could be wrong. Seems to me like the bore size of the 2.0L MR2 would be alot closer to the 1.6L D-motor. Anybody seen Nathan around??

JDM B16A connecting rods (modified to fit)
this is what he uses. pistons cost him aboout $20.00 each. check some of his archived posts for more info. it's all there.

Anybody know the resulting CR?? The 1G Supra's weren't turbo'd right? That being true, those aren't exactly turbo ready pistons like 2JZ-GTE's would be
