smoking catch can?

Default smoking catch can?

I just had my b16 built up with GE sleeves,9:1 CP pistons,Eagle rods,acl bearings,supertech valvetrain,Cometic headgasket,ITR water/oil pump.Well i dropped it in the car and started it up for the first time and alittle bit of white smoke is coming out the catch can....is this normal for first start up?

smoke tends to come from all sorts of places during the first 10 minutes or so, oil is burning off all the parts you installed, rings seating, etc...

Your rings are seated yet......and they won't seat until you run your engine correctly...don't just start it up.

Once the rings seat you will still get a little more blowby because not only are you pushing more boost and power, but your pistons and rings are a little looser then stock to allow more heat and power. This looseness also cause extra blowby.

Meaning you have it tuned before you drive it/start it.

they all do that, every engine would do it, given the proper system, its nothing to worry about. quit being so damn paranoid and run that pos,.

My catch can has steam coming out of it. Not thick smoke but vapor you see evaporating quickly. This is normal in most setups from what i've seen.
