Default smc vs. afc hack

what is better? the afc hack or the smc (I can get a used afc from a friend for the same price as the smc)

are there any benefits to one over the other?

What do you like better- $200 for something else, or more adjustment points and a pretty blue screen?

Edit: doh, I only read the title of the post... Ya I'd go for the used afc too if I had a choice...so whats the latest on your car pelo

If you can get a SAFC for the same price of the SMC; then get that. The SMC is (normally) 1/2 the price new, and allows 4 adjustments of the RPM range. It is a lot simpler, and gets the job done.
