a small amount of smoke from turbo.. insufficient drain?
well my turbo is on and running, but I have a tiny amount of smoke coming from the center section of the turbo.. at first I thought it was oil on the down pipe but after cleaning it well and letting the car warm up I noticed it's from the turbo itself.. so I have a few questions..
since my setup is a/c compatible, then drain line had to go around the down pipe, unlike a straight downward drain most people run.. could this be causing the little bit of smoke i'm seeing?? it does kind of level off a bit before reaching the oil pan fitting..
secondly, if it IS the turbo, should I rebuild it with a kit on ebay or send it to blaast?
when I say a small amount of smoke, i mean, i take it to 3k RPM and could hardly get enough in my face to smell it.. less than a cigarette puts off just burning
the turbo has almost zero shaft play, so i'm really confused at this point..
there is no oil on either set of blades.. no smoke from the exhaust.. i'm leaning towards the drain
this is what i mean about the drain not being straight down:

Bump for the same problem. But mine occurs only after a good session of hitting boost. At first I thought it was a little burn-off, but that definitely wasn't it. My turbo is also clocked correctly and my drain is fine.
