Default Slim fan wiring question

Ok, my friend gave me a slim fan, and I was wondering how you guys hooked it up. It didnt have a connector so I cut my stock one off, and just wired the 2 from the fan to the 2 for the car, and it never came on (yes i waited till it was norm temp) and then i figured the wiring was wrong, so I switched them around and still nothing. Is there a special way? And the fuses are good before someone says it. Any help would be awesome guys.

I might sound crazy, but power it directly from the battery terminals (just to test). If it turns on, something's wrong with your stock fan wiring, otherwise its junk. The majority of slim fans are reversible (flip the blades and wires at the same time), so wire polarity doesn't matter as long as the circuit its plugged into works.

i had the same issue. first-thing i soldered the 4 wires together. then my tech teacher took my fan relay out, turned the car on acessory, bent a paper clip and some how jumped the fan into turning on. and everything was fine, it was pretty slick.
