I wanna sleeve my block; I just got done reading some threads about bensons and GE or something like that. What are some options....I thought GE were supposed to be bad...I dont know.

Another issue...what is more important; The sleeve quality or the machine shop
I was going to go locally to a shop in Lakewood Washington called Buds Machine shop. Im trying to advoid shipping my block

EDIT : I got a g1 jdm b16; Not sure if im going to use stock bore either...

Im looking at goals from 225whp-300whp
Any suggestions? Please back your suggestions up with proof; not my friends dads sister has them and they said they work good; get me?

I too was told that GE were bad. Bad in the sense that the material isn't as hard as Darton. My sleeve work is in the process and I'm using Darton. I can't really say what the main thing is...the sleeves or the machine shop because I'd have to say both. If you get a crap machine shop to do the work, the sleeves may drop and you might damage a piston or worse. If you get crap sleeves, they may end up not holding and you'd have to pull it out and redo it again (best case scenario) or buy a new motor if it blows (worse case scenario). With your goals, a lot of people would say that you don't need to sleeve and I would agree with them too if I didn't hear things like, "do you want to pull it out again 8 months down the line redo it again"? It's my personal belief that if it's out already and you know you're going to boost and potentially go higher, might as well go the whole 9 yards. Good luck.

WOW! You hit it right on the dot. Thats why I posted this. The motor is out; but just seems like a lot of money for something I *might* not need....Im thinking ill be ok...I guess Ill risk it....unless someone posts with a setup similar that has blown his/her motor
Do you think 250-300whp is enough for 12s quarter mile wise?

People make over 500whp on stock sleeves, the power isn't what is to be worried about. It is all in the tuning when it comes to cracking sleeves. Just get a good tuner and you should be prefectly fine at those power levels. If you let it detonate then you are going to have problems.
