I'm thinking about building a b16 and i wanted to get the biggest liter size from it. I'm going to get it sleeved and what not. What is the best bang for the buck sleeves and same about a stroker kit. Also where can I get it done that people have experience with. I'm in Vegas NV. and would prefer to keep it local but if I have to send it out then that's fine too. TIA
send it to golden eagle mfg, 909 592 4311, http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com
they are "somewhat" local to you, and do good work, and recently have had awsome turnaround time. i believe it was something like 2 weeks for our last block.

I recommend a Benson block. Benson sleeved mine and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Earl at Laskeyracing.com is who I went through. there is a thread in the forced induction that has pictures of the block done. Just look at that.
i had my block sleeved by micheal at northeast auto machine in CT.. he uses AEBS tsleeves and does very nice work.. while it was getting sleeves i decided up to up the bore and lower the compression.. im running an 84mm more, and 9:1 cp pistions.. very nice work and very happy with the service.. i spent about $2500 on the sleeves, new pistions, and all the labor, he even installed the pistons and checked all the clearances after building the motor.

With Golden eagle, Id expect to spend around $750-800, keep in mind of shipping charges as well.
Benson, well I remeber when Earl was doing that special it was $950, not sure if that included shipping or not.
Just giving you an idea of cost.

I paid $950+shipping, but I am in Florida, so thats quite a ways from Cali.... Benson is a little more expensive, but Earl will take care of you. He is very straight forward.
I have heard that Fuzion auto in PA is good.. There is a machine shop that a friend of mine knows really well that im getting my B18C5 done at in MD but I forget the name of it..
Ill ask him and let you know..

those prices are just for the sleeves installed.. or does that cover bore, hone, and all the other stuff to put the block together correctly?

we checked into a dart block.. inline pro wanted 3400 for a 81mm dart block plus the blown block as a core and didnt want to give us anything for it, kinda like they were just gonna take it off our hands
.. we spend about 1000 less than the dart block would have been and im very happy w/ the work..

daily driving hasnt been a problem w/ me yet.. i do notice the cooling fan come on a lot more w/ a turboed car then my old NA car but im pretty sure thats normal.. i think we paid a little more than 800 for the sleeves.. it costed about 2300 w/ labor and parts for the sleeves, pistons, new pistons rings, and rods...

raceeng.com has them currently for 1850 but im not sure if that price includes pistions as well.. does it?? if so then add another grand for pistons, rods and bearings.. plus the price increase cause it was being sold at a shop like inline pro.. i dont know..
