Default sleeves, deck guard, or neither?

Im building a 1.9L b16 an im going force induce it ofcourse. i have talked to alot of friends an other people about the use of sleeves or a deck guard and all I get is mixed feelings about it. many say its a waste of money an then on the other hand there are those who tell me I should def sleeve it. As far as power goals are concerned, its going to be a daily driver so Im thinking anywhere between 350 an 400 horses should do it. So I dunno, sleeves, deck guard, or neither? Lemme know how you feel.

1.9 b16 ?????

as far as reachin your horsepower goals .. no block guard or sleeves is needed.. dont spend the extra cash on whats not needed..

save it on a good tune and some slicks

since jeff evans has tuned a couple 600+whp stock sleeve setups... i begin to question sleeving being necessary

Stroked B16 with a 89mm or 87.2 mm crank? and for your power goals i wouldnt sleeve it. I would just get pistons n rods and a nice turbo set-up.

For your power goals, I wouldn't normally sleeve the setup. However, with the big stroke in a B16 block of what you are planning, you will have an extremely short rod that will sideload the **** out of the sleeves, so yes, I would sleeve the block.

1.9L B16 makes you sound like you're going for the tech43 stroker setup, which I would never, ever, ever run with a turbo. It has a tiny crown and uses oil naturally aspirated, those wings will give up like a fat kids knees if you put any boost to them.

Second, to get 1.9 liters you need to bore the motor out to 84mm, which makes sleeving mandatory

Third, if you didn't know either of the first points I brought up, you should read up and wait before trying to start a turbo buildup.
