Yeah I had a B16A block bored to 84.5 By GE, they had the piston to wall clearance really loose adn then the sleeves sunk. I sent it back and they "fixed it" , uh no I got it all back together went 85mm since the bores were too big and they sunk again, car was on the dyno 14psi 370whp, pressurized coolant into the reservoir. They all sunk again .003 below the deck, before they were .001 below the deck for #1 and #4 and even on #2 and #3, before that build they were stepped .003 above the deck. This is my experience with GE, others have had great success though. I have a Darton sleeved block now and am hoping for the best. At least I got my refund from GE! I am still out of a lot of money and time but so life goes. Good luck.

I picked up the block from a friend and he had it bored and honed already for a set of JE Pistons 84mm so I went with them that way if I ever rebuild I have room to go to 84.5 and I still have my 85mm Endyn pistons too. Stock stroke. We will see how the motor does in a week or two, it's all put together minus the cams and timing belt right now. I will post results as soon as I have some, dyno #s and 1/4 times.

What are your goals actually? I made 370whp and 273ft-lb torque with a small T3/T04B turbo that came with my DRAG kit 81.5mm bore stock sleeves. When I went to 84.5mm bore I made the same power with 14psi and at 25psi I made 500whp 333 ft-lb torque. So here some #s for you to crunch. Good luck!

My B16a block was resleeved, honed, bored, etc. by Golden Eagle. I had them bore it to 84mm. No dyno numbers yet but one day this year I might have some, lol.

cool, im assuming it was resleeved for reinforcement right? i called up a local machine shop and they said resleeving wasn't really necessary?? I had to wonder about high revving, high boost engine though.....

I'm also building a 84 mm b16, sleeved by RS machine. It will be up in running in the next month or so. I hope

I resleeved my block because I am going to be pushing 400+whp (my goal is 475whp). If I were shooting for 350whp I wouldn't of resleeved my block.

Boostfed What was the original psi that you hit the 370whp on??? You mentioned 14psi on 84.5 bore, but what psi at 81.5 bore ???.

Thanks.

I was running 84mm on a Lienter Sleeved B16A block with T-top sleeves....It cracked right down the number 3 cylinder with less than 50 miles on the block!! I suspect the sleeves were the culprit. Going with Dartons this next time.

This is Will's GE sleeved 86mm 1.79L B16A which is going in his Rex... It's just another boosted motor and it should make ~400-450whp... Who knows, he just wishes he would have gone with a B18C now like Brian, Duc, and Kenny Oh well, it's in a Rex, should go pretty good... Good Luck
