..For that power goal i would just use the type R cams and spend the extra money some where else.

i'm in the same situation, i've got pro 1's and 01 itr cams. I'm only looking for ~375-400whp. I guess the only real problem with the S2 Pro 1's i'm worried about is the idle...is it gonna idle fine...or idle like ****. 8)

edit: this setup will be my daily. 8)

For a daily driver the idle is going to suffer Boosted Hybrid posted on here that pro1 are a pita to idle on daily driver. I was also told by Tony1 that CTR would be a better cam for a somewhat low boost application. The only true way to know is to dyno both cams on a low boost setup.

Go with the ITR cams...

S2 PRO 1's idle like garbage (but they sound mean)

Sam @ Imporsports never had a idling issue neither does any of the high h.p. cars that his customer has. They all idle perfect, but they are a loud cam...what all motor cam isn't?!! Most of his customers are off of Hondata's.

i'm doing a similar build (b19c1 ~400-450hp,) and i'm worried about idle. i'll be running AEM EMS. and i'm wondering why no one ever talks about skunk2's turbo cams (stage 1 and 2) are they teh garbage?

For 350whp /400whp, it would help in the idrange, b ut nothing that a good tune couldn't do with a set of GS-R cams. For those going higher and bigger, (500whp +) the Skunk 2 pro series 1 cams would do ok.

I will be upgrading to SK2 P1's or ITR's before my retune in the spring, I have a pretty flat torque curve currently on GSR cams, I only lose 50tq from 6k to 9500 where most cars I see running ITR or other NA cams lose over 100+tq in that RPM range, and then nose dive after 9k. I have been thinking maybe it was the cams, but maybe it is something else, curious to see the results.

Huh, makes me wonder how aggressive the low cam profile is; I can get LS w/ 403's or 404's to idle smooth at 850 rpms, and they are approx GSR and ITR high cam profile.

Anybody have any luck with the BC cams?

Choosing the right cam for your setup has alot to do with your selection of turbo manifold and turbine wheel/turbine housing. You need to have an idea of the pressure relationship between exhaust and intake manifold at overlap in order to decide how much cam is too much. If you are running a T3 based turbo you will probably be better off with itr cams or maybe an itr exh cam and something a little bigger on the intake side.

What about just an ITR Intake Cam and GSR Ex? I already have the Intake but the ITR Ex is marked up from a bad journal on a diff head.
