Default A Sitting motor

Ive built my block with new pistons, rods, bearings, and rings. After the build, I totally sealed it up. It's been sitting for about 2 months now without work done to it. Is this ok? Does anyone recommend tearing it all down again? Parts are lubed as needed.

what do u mean totally sealed it up? Gave it a coat of oil and wrapped it in a plastic bag? If so should be good to go. Just make sure there is no rust forming and everything turns freely.

were you storing it in a freezer? in a garage? whats the humidity like?

if it was kept at room temperature with minimal humidity, id say just pull the relay before you fire it up. get thet bitch lubed up.

Kept in the shade outside with all holes sealed. Only thing that's exposed is the thermostat but I'll change that before swapping. I live in LB Cali and it doesn't get too humid down here.

You'll be fine...I have a customer's fully built longblock that's been sitting here for over 6 months waiting for him to bring the car to me. Just spray some WD40 on the cylinders and put a big bag over it.

we usually dont recommend having the engine sitting there if its a fresh build. If the person is not using it soon and is in no hurry, I'd say dont assemble it yet until ready. But if its already done and ready to go. Cover it up the best that you can. Seal it tight so no moisture or the elements can get to it.
