rebuilding dilemma.
i rebuilt my motor the 1st time but didnt change the oil pump.
GE HD sleeved, CP pistons, eagle rods, head studs, main studs. ACL bearings.
broke it in 1K miles ran great. and then i got it mase tuned and made 400 WHP 355 torque at 20 psi. However my comp numbers were 210 210 190 210
soon after i spun all the bearings. oil starvation im guessing.
i tried changing the bearings but it still knocks a little. so i pulled the motor out.
i got the motor out now and im trying to decide
plan A) replace crank, oil pump, bearings, oil squirter block offs.
plan B) replace crank, oil pump bearings, oil squirter block offs, hone cyl and re-ring pistons
obviously plan A would be a whole lot faster.
inside i want to do plan B, but itll prob take a month or two cuz im not building the motor now. got no time for it. college/work etcc.

Re: rebuilding dilemma. (project dc2)
Is there still cross hatching on the cylinders from the first hone job you did? Im pretty sure new rings will seat if there is still hatching there but you might want to ask an engine builder.. I already re-hone when ever I rebuild the motor but thats just me..
Are you planning on taking the pistons and rods out of the block? If not then just put new bearings in there with a new oil pump and you should be good to go..

nah i got the funds. just the people that have the motor are pretty busy and you know how that goes with shops liike that.
the guys are a great group of guys. but i mean they're workin 15 hr shifts and still cant control all the business coming in etcc. i dont wanna take longer than i have to if just replacing the beariings etcc would do the trick.
part of me wants to rebuild it so i can get 210 across the board.
