Side mount intercooler for 2000 EM1?
Seriously considering going turbo. A custom kit with minimal piping, low boost and
hopefully a sidemount intercooler. Anyone have pics of such a setup.
I AM NOT OUT TO MAKE LARGE AMOUNTS OF HORSEPOWER....MAYBE 200 WHP.
Please do not suggest a large front mount , some large *** turbo and 11ty billion CC injectors. Please seriously. I saw a thread in appearance with a 4 DR D series
with a side mount. Looks awesome and low key.
Figure a manifold, turbo, sidemount I/C, charge pipes, fuel pump, lines, FMU, downpipe, and a BOV.......I should be set.
Anyone?

If you don't want any power, FMU should be safe.
You might want to check out homemadeturbo.com, the cleaner setups found there sound like they'd be right up your alley.
edit: Consider a Greddy kit. Inexpensive, fair fit and finish.

Well since there is no air flow at all on the side of the EM1 Id say thats a really stupid idea. Not to mention the piping is going to be a big pain and will have to be custom. Just get a small front mount and paint it black if you dont want anyone to see it.
anyone willing to bet we'll see a post from this guy within 6-8 months with the heading along the lines of:
"Want more power, which set up to go with?"
