side mount enough cooling for t3/t4?
as the topic states.. i was thinking of getting a decent side mount intercooler instead of the huge front mount just so i don't have to cut my bumper support or front bumper.
thanks

is what i'm hearing a bigger turbo is going to put out less heat in your charge pipes than a smaller turbo???

true, but it largely depends on the boost level. bigger turbo will run cooler at the same psi level as the small one, but it all has to due with efficency. get it

Why not get a more reasonable sized FMIC rather than a huge one?

Re: side mount enough cooling for t3/t4? (nfn15037)
well i think the whole reason he wants to get a side mount is so he doesnt have to cut his bumper up, but the piping on my car was really the reason i had to cut things up. really if you get really good fitting pipes, the cutting is very minimal, front mount/side mount there is still going to be some cutting. so either way your going to have to chop a little here and there. and plus you can get a johnny race car intercooler for cheap too, so go which ever way you want but there will still be some chopping sorry to tell ya

Not totally true. Until the efficiency range is reached the large turbo will produce hot air as well. It kinda works like and upside down bell curve in terms of output temp vs. PSI. That's the best way I can put it.
Back on topic though A sidemount will work for certain power goals. I'm not sure what they are, but my best guess is under 250whp.....I'm sre someone knows. Many people have used them and seem to work fine. Don't be scared to cut away at your bumper, you will do minimal cutting at best
