should i get injectors?
come on, guys... i found a good deal on some slightly used 310 injectors for $250 and im debating if i should get em or not... so i need your opinion. for all of you who forgot or dont know what my setup is... i basically have the LS DRAG3 turbo kit running stock injectors, inline fuel pump, and the 12:1 fmu. so far, i seem to be running fine with the stock injectors. i know it isnt exactly safe to be running high fuel pressures. according to my A/F guage, i dont lean out at full boost. the thing is... i was thinkin about gettin the 310s and lowering my fmu ratio to 8:1. im the type of person that ponders about the consequences of changing parts and not changing parts. im content with what i have right now.. but i know i should upgrade. will getting the 310s and changin out the fmu prove to be worth it? will i run too rich or too lean with it? someone tell me why i would be doin the right thing by swapping out the injectors and fmu rate... besides the ever-so-popular reason "to avoid high fuel pressures". dammit. im such a cheap ***. i have an excuse... i have lots of bills, i still go to college, i have no job and i have turbo fever.
... and yeah... i know... "get hondata and bigger injectors."
EDIT: im now running 7lbs... in case you needed to know.

Pros:
Lower peak fuel pressure ->
More room to up the boost and go faster ->
Cons:
Larger injectors require lower idle pressure and/or VAFC (not sure if you have one) ->
If your car is not OBD1, you'll need to chop your injector clips off and solder on new ones ->
More room to up the boost and blow stuff up ->
The fuel pressure argument is really the key, IMO. If you go from 240's to 310's and from a 12:1 disk to an 8:1 disk, you will be taking a very large burden off of your fuel system.
Assuming you idle at ~38 psi, your maximum fuel pressure is about 122 psi ((40 psi + (12 x 7)). If you go to 310cc injectors, you can drop your idle pressure to about 29 psi and your max fuel pressure would be 85 psi (29 + (8 x 7)).

why dont you just ditch the high fuel pressure and get a vafc from ebay for about 250 then find some dsm injectors for about 60 bucks.

back when I had my LS setup i was running 310s with 8:1 disk and 9 psi. It ran fine. much safer then youre current setup. I didnt even have an AFC or anything. Although it would have helped the low end a little bit. I remember when leaving from a dead stop I'd have to rev it up a bit more then usual. But I had that setup for over a year and it didnt really bother me.

Re: should i get injectors? (TurboInteg95)
wow... this thread was revived from the archives.
i just recently got my car dyno'd and after 4500+rpms.. it gets extreme rich. im plannin on tryin out the 310s and 8:1... or possibly keep the stock injectors on with 12:1 and lean it out with a SAFC. im kind of curious about how each combo works. ill probably end up goin hondata soon... thats if i dont sell my turbo.
