I purchased a used Garrett T3 turbo A/r.48 (hot side) .42 (cold side) from someone.
i plugged up the oil drain and blew into the oil feed hole and i heard air hissing out of the turbine side.
does this mean that the seal is bad?

uhh... the seal WAS probably fine, but you probly just blew it by blowing air into it

thouse seals arnt made to hold that amount of pressure

 

isnt that why people run restrictors??? so those seals dont see a large amount of pressure? blow compressed air is like 100+ psi.
