setting up the exhaust system for turbo
First, Ive searched this topic, but without a thread specifically related to your application, its a little hard to make a soild decision, so your help is appreciated. Alright, first a little background. The car is not currently running because I'm redoing the exhaust, but when it is running, ill be running 7psi with a gt28r on a stock d16y8. Well my cat-back on my car now (before turbo) is 2.25" and my downpipe is 2.5", so the cat-back exhaust needs to go. As far as the decision below, whether to go 2.5" or 3", dont base it off money, cause its not a matter at this point. I don't really have plans to raise the boost in the future, maybe a mild build and 10psi max.
So heres my question, do I flare the 2.5" downpipe to 3", then get 3" high flow cat and 3" thermal r&d cat-back?
or...
Leave the downpipe at 2.5", get 2.5" high flow cat and find a good 2.5" cat-back exhaust system? If this option, then does anyone have recommendations for a good 2.5" turbo back exhaust?
