Default Setting timing on Tall Deck DART block????

So i re-assembled a buddies motor. It is a tall deck 84.5mm dart block, with b16 head. Eagle crank, Custom eagle rods, and custom cp pistons.

Got it all back together and when i go to give it a spin by hand, valves hit pistons. The set up is identical to how he used to run it, it just needed to be freshened up. If i remember correctly the belt was set whackey, like a few teeth out??

Anyone have any ideas??

Ur timing is probably off. Show us some pictures of how you set the timing.

I know how to set timing... its not off.. If i recall the guy who built it for him last time, set the timing with the cams off a few teeth. I questioned it then and his answer was because it was a tall deck... We left it at that. I then pulled it apart for the guy because it had bad blow-by, i had the block re-sleeved and we did new pistons and rings, i forgot to mark how the belt was set up when i took it apart! Now i dont remember how to put it back???

turn it on and just go with it.

lol but srsly,

maybe try advancing the exhaust cam and retarding the intake cam, until it stops hitting?

try lower compresson pistons?

Cams are just GSR, I dont know the exact specs on the pistons.. Ill have to see if i can find the build sheet from CP. They were custom built.

Degreeing cams in seems to be a little bit above my skill level.. Im gunna have to do some research. I really wish there was someone around here that knew anything about Hondas besides me!!!
