Setting timing with high idle?

Great...so basically I should probably time it to 16 degrees to be safe. Since I am keeping it conservative by putting it at 16 when it should be 16.75, I will be completely safe to boost the snot out of it still? with the only downside being a bit less power? because i do plan on a retune for high boost/race gas, but no time in the near future. Pardon my questions and ignorance but I am just now starting to learn about timing/tuning etc. I greatly appreciate the input

It should be fine if it was properly tuned before and you were timed to 16 when you had it tuned.

As the ancient saying goes, you can't see the forest for the trees. No it won't solve his exact problem, but it will allow him to focus on the bigger problem - why it can't idle below 1k. Thus is the reasoning for saying 1-3 degrees is nothing to worry about ATM. You'd get along with my dad famously, he splits hairs like it's a contest or something.
