searched...need help with bottom end
i just ordered eagle rods on ebay with a guy who's got 98% feedback with over 3000 sales, and bought CP 9:1 forged standard size pistons on ebay also from a reputable guy with 100 % feedback. thats not my problem. the problem is my install. im hearing about bearings and color codes on bearings on searches...i thought these guys are floating pistons/rods where rods just slide into the piston dowel? what bearings are HTmembers talking about? what should i look for when installing? anything i must do? i have the head off the motor which is still in my car, take off the oil pan, oil pump and to intallation while the motor is in my car. i also have 2 friends who will help me with install.
ive changed headgaskets, timing belts, valves, cam shafts and such on my own so please no jokes about "take it to someone who knows how to do it" jokes...thanx

Boosted hybrid made this post a while ago. It has most of the answers to your questions. Hope that helps.

You should get a dial indicator to check clearances on the bearings...they need to be within certain spec...
I would say too loose is better than too tight. Spinning bearings is not a good thing.
