Searched: Need engine builders help!!!!
Like titile says, I need to know what you guys think about what I should set my piston to wall clearance at. The set up is 81mm gsr(stock sleeves) using wiseco 8:1 pistons,t3/t04e. I would like to make close to 350-380 whp. Wiseco spec sheet says .0025. I've read some guys running .003-.004 so I'm not quite sure where to have it set at. Also I plan to dd
thanks

Do not go with .0025. I made the mistake of going with their recommended clearance and I cracked a piston when I slightly over heated. In my new rebuild I went with .004 clearance on CP's but I would go at least .0035 with the wiseco's.

4.5 thou " piston to wall" as a minimum
so far its working great... this same engine had been in a 450hp pumpgas street car, an 800 hp race car(over 25 dyno pulls, and 6 track pass's) then put into my friends car, and went 8's @ 165. now its sitting on the floor waiting to be refreshed, and everything still looks sweet, the cross hatch is there, no scuffing... what more can you ask for ?

Re: Searched: Need engine builders help!!!! (DaveF)
thanks for the info davef, do think .0045 would be the min. or do you think I could go with .0035. Also does .0045 give you any piston slap?

slight piston slap. barely anything.... al hell of alot less than say a 55 thou piston to wall.
dont do .45 thou either, that is death.
