Search is still down: really simple question.
I have been reading posts on SR20's, RB25's, B18b's, ej20's etc. but I still cant get this simple question about tuning answered. If I am running a Hondata and get it tuned for say 15psi for the track, can I just turn down the boosts for the street? Is that how the fuel and timing maps work, as long as it is tuned for a high psi you can always turn it down? All of this assuming I have a block that can handle it.

How do you switch between them? If you have the remote button that some boost comtrollers have for high boost, how does the computer change? I know on the UTEC for the WRX you mount a selector switch to change maps for different octane gas.

i called doug about that...if i remember correctly, you have to have it tuned at a max psi you want... say 20psi.. you use the boost controoler to set it at any psi between the tuned psi which is 20psi and of course the wastegate spring...

you only have one fuel map, unless you use some engine program to switch to a different map.
how much fuel your engine gets is dependant on how much boost is read on the map sensor. So if you have it on high boost (20 psi) then 8psi will get the same fuel as if you were running low boost of 8 psi.
Like someone said above you tune for max boost and all the other levels will be set.

read my whole post man, You CAN have two fuel maps and switch between them but if you tune for 20 psi all the way through your powerband 8 psi will be tuned as well.
He said he was going to run hondata, so that would allow for two different maps.
and use a boost controller. like a greddy profec b. one map. multiple boost levels. end of story.
Awsome, thanks guys. This is just one question I have always wondered but was never able to answer. It makes me want to get a boost comtroller with the remote high boost button.
