Default In search of more power...

Hey everyone, I am currently running the 18g greddy kit with stock elbow, 2'' DP and mugen exhaust and at about 10.5psi am making about 250whp and 218wtq.

My question is if i were to buy a new exhaust manifold (full-race), new turbo (t3/t4 or a quick spooling GT) external WG, and have a custom dp made i would not have to replace any of the other parts included in the greddy kit (charge pipes, intercooler, etc..) correct?

I have already ditched the blue box in favor of the "other" blue box (hondata s200b) and 440cc injectors.

The motor is stock internally (for a while at least) and would be looking for about 280whp or so.

Would it be just as wise to turn up the boost (12-14psi) on the 18g for now and then wait to build the internals?

Thanks for the Info!

2.5" to 3" flared downpipe and 3" exhaust alone will net your goals..

If you're only looking for 280 - opening up to a 3" turbo back will allow you to keep your AC and net your goals.

Watch the boost creep though with that set up. Might have to do a bit of porting.

yea i know ive been through the whole porting issue with the turbo and the internal wastegate and kinda wanted to stay away from that.

im hoping eventually to build it a little though which i would prob get a different turbo/manifold/WG set up...

thanks

**i only put 280whp since from what i have read, 300whp is the limit of the internally stock GSR

i made 395whp on my stock gsr last year. ran perfect for months until i finally built it. i would think you could get a good tune and run 350whp daily and still be on the safe side...as long as its properly tuned.

Most likely your intercooler pipes will not line up anymore so you will have to refab them.

stock gsr eng/tranny, cheapass sheetmetal intake mani, lovefab sst equal length turbo mani, full-race t3/t67 h.o., 3" downpipe and full exhaust, AEM EMS, PTE 880cc injectors, walbro 255hp intank pump, stock fuel lines, stock ignition...basically it. all done on 12psi boost. couldve hit 400 but the damn piping kept popping off the turbo. best run at the track(only went 1 time then built that eng) was 11.8 @ 120mph. and that was on 22x8x15" slicks. i think i couldve done better with 24.5" slicks.
