somebody? or has everybody just upgraded the both intake and exhaust. im asking because i was told all you need to upgrade is the exhaust valves to withstand the heat generated by turbo.

i am upgrading the springs and retainers. im going to use supertech springs and retainers. im thinking about just upgrading the exhaust valves with crower ones.

If your stock valves aren't bent I would just go with those! Ain't nothing wrong with em. If ya got a couple that are bent, go with the Supertech Inconel's.

yea i was considering leaving the stock valves in the head, it has 74k on it. i was told that the extreme exhaust heat from the turbo will not last on stock valves very long. i just invested a couple grand in my bottom end and I don't want to ruin it with a dropped valve.

probably will get the supertech exhaust valves. just priced them. that is if i even upgrade them now. i might hold out til next winter and ugrade valves and port and polish

only time you need to upgrade valves is if you dont have stainless valves. non-stainless valves will burn up with a turbo if the temp gets too high.
cant remember but I think the reason nobody really worries about swapping valves on honda/acura engines is because they're stainless already from the factory.

Couple reasons you'd wanna upgrade.
If ya have some bent ones.
If your going oversized
Or if you've just got a **** load of money and don't really care lol
Use the Stock ones till ya bend one. You won't burn any. Replace the valves, then your gonna want to replace the valve guides as well as put some brozne in... There's another chunk of change.
Just wait until you either wanna port and polish it, or some are bent. You'll be fine.

no way..just because you change valves does not mean change valve guides! as long as the clearance is good you dont need to worry about the valve guides...im still on stock guides in my motor.

I think he was just stating that because it's just common practice to replace guides with valves when you do it so they can wear together.
I've re-used valve guides as well but if I had the money I would always replace them when I did the valves just for peace of mind.
