that's cool...i'd like to try one of those on the turbo itself (when i get one, he,he.)..think it'll work better than an actual filter as far as flowing air is concerned....i don't think i'd put it on the intercooler though..

I don't think it would be better then an air filter at all. It might flow more air, but it would be hot air sitting next to the manifold and turbo. Not to mention all the **** that your turbo would be sucking in.

I'd be kinda concerned about it coming loose and getting sucked somewhere.

Can you get the screens in large sizes? How strong and how flexible are they?

The #3 filter is very strong, but u can bend it and it will stay in that shape. Yes i can get any size filter, these were just the ones we use in our plastic extruding machines, to show u guys a sample.

all the filters are strong thou, but i like #3 becuz you cant see thru it. these are not like the sliding door mesh screens, the quality is thicker and stronger.

if the car is movng, then it's gonna be sucking in cooler outside air..if the car is idling, then that same heat will radiate to a regualr filter also.....

and as far as sucking stuff in, as long as u don't live near a beach or sumthin and tand to drive though dirt and/or sand all the time, i se no problem with it...guys drive around without filters or anything on their turbos all the time (now that, is crazy)..

I like the #2 for a turbo on a race track just to keep larger rocks out. Looks like it would flow the best.

so you are going to use #3 to conceal the intercooler?? pretty good idea, looks a hell of a lot better than the chicken wire from home depot. about how much does that stuff cost??

I agree, I wouldn't use it on a street car, but on a track car it would be great especially if you have a forward turbo, could save your *** from potentially destructive debris

well right now I cannot afford a slim fan until I pay off my motor. There is no way I will get a filter on it with my stock fan there and a fluidyne.

Just a thought. Does it matter what kind of air the turbo sucks in if it goes through an intercooler? I dont care if it sucks in hot air in neutral......only when im moving.

well you do want the air to be as cool as possible before it even enters the system, but when you are moving there should be cooler air getting ingested, why not just pipe the inlet down to the front of the car,

Yeah, that should catch the little things like buffalo, small children, or even rabbits, but what about the even smaller stuff like dirt? Nah, I would really like to know how well they work also. Keep us updated!

1 2 3

1 will be the screen, then 2 would be some kind of fliter, then 3 would be the other screen.

Yes, these are not your home depot style mesh screens.

I will look into how much they will be. I will take better pics with a good digital camera so u know what I'm talking about. Becuase the ones we use on our machines are small (3inch). But we have bigger sizes as well. last time i talked to someone, im pretty sure it was Earl. he wanted 10inch ones. Ours are precut into circular diameter.

But, since everyone wants different sizes I will get a price for by the yard or foot.

All filters mold into the shape u bend them, they are not flimsy at all.
#1 = STRONG, moderate airflow
#2 = STRONG, high airflow
#3 = STRONGEST, least airflow
(Above description is just using hand testing and blowing | please tell me what kind of details u want and I will ask my supplier to those types of specs)

But this will be done at the end of the month, too much work right now and exams coming up.
