Default SC61 or t66

Which turbo would you use? Aiming for 500+whp. My setup consists of b18c1 81.5mm sleeved, piston, rods, portflow head, hondata, 1000cc injectors, and some other stuff... made 400 to the wheels on the ebay sschrome manifold and t3/t4 turbo at 20psi(still holding up but want more power). Leaning towards a SC61, t66, t67. Would like to spool as earlier as possible because this car is a daily driver also.

Also, would you go straight t4 or still keep the t3 exhaust?

T66 is very inefficient at low boost levels compared to the T67. An SC61 will do 550 or even more WHP, and a T3/T67 is good for atleast 600. A full T4 turbo like a PT67 is, IMHO, too laggy to really enjoy on a daily driver, figure about 6500-7000 RPM's to make sizeable boost, even with a .68 A/R P-trim exhaust side.

**** if you want more power and you are doing sleeves then you should run 84mm pistons instead of 81.5

What I mean is, I already have sleeves.... If this motor blows, then I'll go 84mm.... I bought the motor built with 81.5.

I'll say go with the sc-61. Thats what I have on my car(fully built gsr w/ Ls crank and 84.5mm bore,10.2 t o1 compression). On my car its fully boosted to 10psi @ 4200rpms(my redline is 9400 ). When my car was dynoed tuned at abacus I made 400whp @10psi.

Dam, 400hp at 10psi , wish I had that power but my compression and bore is killing me. When do you start to build boost on sc61?

my turbo starts to spool around 3100rpms. My dyno sheet is on AEM's website. I will try and dip it up later and post it. My compression ratio is 10.2 to 1

yeah the sc61 is nice...
stage 5 t350 76trim turbine wheel in a .63a/r or even an .82a/r turbine housing...
the .82 may be alittle to laggy...
but man dual ballbearing centersections will help out with your lag issue on the larger turbo's however that will generally shift the plots on the compressor map putting you further away from its effeciency range before you plain out at full boost...
but hell its worth it in my opinion...
is there a ball bearing option for the sc61?
the ITS gts61 is also a nice option
pretty much the same thing, yo can just throw on whatever turbine configuration you chose.

Be careful which version of the SC61 you buy -- we have three different ones based on what turbine wheel it has in it. All three have a compressor wheel that's 79% efficient at 17.6 lbls of boost (approx 2.2 bar) and 72% efficient at 23.5 lbs of boost (approx 2.6 bar). For quicker sppoling, we suggest you go with the smaller of the three, which has a T350 76 trim turbine wheel along with a .63 T3 housing.

The turbo will support up to 630 peak hp at the crank with proper tuning, while the other two will support more. That would translate down to 535 peak hp at the wheel. In real world drive with pump gas at moderate boost levels, 400+ sounds right.

Mixing n' matching wheels and housings is an interesting game, but the results don't always match theory. There are some people out there that are making a T3/T4 with a 67 compressor wheel (in fact, we've made some, too), but we don't tend to recommend this combiantion. We figure that such a combination would support up to 730-hp at the flywheel with a 63 trim compressor wheel and a TO4 69 trim turbine wheel. We tend to think that the GT4067 is a better combination. It will support up to 800-hp at the flywheel and spool quicker the the aforementioned T3/T4 with the 67 wheel.

Hope this helps. Now I'm going for my morning Diet Coke.
