Default SC61 efficiency range?

Well since they don't release thier compressor maps, how would I find out what the effeciency range (if thats what it is called) for the sc61? I searched but didn't find much. I'm looking for the min and max psi in which the turbo is still effecient.
Anyone know?

It's a GT40 compressor wheel if that helps. Turbonetics has maps on their site..
Not sure if garret does or not.

Actually its a bit closer to the GT35 Family. Notice how I didn't say GT35R.. Totally different.

Here's your map. It is a little closer to the 71mm compressor wheel

I see it now! So according to that it should be in the top effeciency range from ~10-25psi or am i reading it wrong?

They? as in Precision doesnt release the compressor maps because they only make the housings for the turbos. The turbines are Garret I believe and thats where they told me to get compressor maps from.

I can't see that being the correct compressor map for a sc61. According to that the SC61 would be maxed out @ 500whp.

No... Look at the A/R on the map you just posted. It is .70 A/R.. That sure looks like a GT40R...BB

That is the compressor wheel used in the sc61. That is most compariable to a sc61 with the S housing with is .70 a/r...

THE 2ND MAP IS THE CORRECT MAP!!!!!!!!

The SC61 uses the GT40 family 56 trim compressor wheel. IT IS NOT A GT35 FAMILY WHEEL!

That first map the shodan posted is NOT the right map... That is the map for a smaller GT35 family wheel.

The only garrett turbo the 56 trim GT40 wheel is found in is the GT35R.. the reason the map is set up around a .70ar is because the GT35R uses a .70A/R housing..

The Strait GT40R by garrett uses a different compressor wheel then the GT35R, it uses a different GT40 family wheel, the 52 trim w/ 88mm exducer..

I guess if you think about it there is no dead on map for a standard SC61. (since the compressor map for the wheel it uses is set up for the .70ar housing) But still, your best bet is to go by the .70ar map, compressor maps don't tell the whole story anyways.. It will get you close enough.

Maybe if I learned to read the compressor maps I could build fast cars?

The most correct information in this thread.

Let me add something too. I spoke to a Garrett employee who is on HT. He told me that there is alot of misinformation on this site and this tread is proof. I wish you would post Brian.

Not true. there is a variant of the GT30R that uses the 82mm / 56trim GT40 Compressor. but mated to the true GT30R turbine wheel - 60mm, 84 trim. as opposed to the 68mm, 84 trim turbine of the GT35R. i have one good post though art. I have agree that there is alot of misinformation around about the new turbos. i scan probably 3-4 different web boards a day lookign for posts about this stuff so i can keep peopel straight!

Scott, I think what chris was trying to say is that compressor used in the SC61, GT40 56 trim, is what that map is for. Brian, if you are reading this I wish you would set us straight.
