Default SC34 vs GT35E for a mild build b16a... Overkill?

Im in the process of buildin my b16 bottom end. i got some eagle rods and am still deciding what pistons to grab. Aside from that, the rest of the motor will be stock. Going to be tuned with Hondata S200

Are these turbos too big for a B16a? Lots of lag?

SC34 is fun on my B16a... here's 9:1 compression, stock head, SC34 on a Inline Pro Log, 15 psi, but my intercooler was acting up, and not playing nice. VERY inefficient over the 10 PSI barrier.

I've got a few alternatives for use for the B16 setup w/ that compression give me a PM or e-mail me. Hell_JDM can vouch.

Go for the 35E, if you can afford it, get a GT35R.
SiR Kid, thats really low on the SC34... doesn't seem exactly lag friendly either.

GT35E uses more efficient compressor and turbine wheels for quicker spool and more power. Bulldogg83 or whatever his name is did 375 WHP on pump gas on a 10.5:1 84MM B16 at 15 pounds of boost, and there was even a car on here with an 85MM LS/VTEC that made 508 WHP @ 19 pounds of boost. Very efficient turbo that will make a boatload of power. I would run the GT35R if you have the money, or even something like a GT3040. I just PM'ed Mikes01GSR and he said that the GT3040 is making 15 pounds of boost by 4500 RPM's on his GSR, and that is a 500++ WHP capable turbo, same thing i'm gonna be running in my sedan. Just my 2C.

i'm looking at getting the inline pro manifold. is it worth the money? Also... I saw on the fast-turbo.com site that there are a few kinds. If i go sc34... would i get the 4 or 5 bolt manifold? what is the difference. Also... gt35E is like $1300 double out of the price range... crying shame

Sorry, just read your first post again, GT35R is a bit big for you, with what you want to do you can safely go to 300-350hp, maybe a bit more...
Have you looked into the Precision GT32E?

I forgot to add this before. I'm using a gsr head if that makes any difference.
I think the sc34 is a bit more in my price range. also, I'll have to look at the specs on the gt32 compressor to see how it compares to the sc34

The GT35E from PTE retails for 963 dollars, but I'm sure places sell it for less. The GT35R retails for who knows how much, but full-race sells it for 1300 bucks, and that's the dual ball bearing one.

LOL. Thanks, Adam.

The Intercooler is off the car and sold to a honda-tech'ian in Minnesota, as a matter of fact. I've already purchased a mid sized PTE intercooler, and it'll be installed HOPEFULLY this month sometime.

I miss driving my hatchie.

Whatever happened to the SC50? People still use those?

I sold mine to a Guy local with a Sr20det S14 and he put down right at 400whp with it, He seemed pretty happy!
