safe boost
I was wondering from hearing alot of talk lately...what is a safe boost level on a stock b18c1 engine? ive heard everything from 5-13. i would just like to not blow up my engine but still reach a fair amount of horse power
Boost level has nothing to do with it, it's horsepower/ poor tuning that will break engine components.
So there is no real way to answer your question.

depends on the size of the turbo how much boost u can run. and it depends on the size of the turbo/tuning/condition of your motor etc on how much hp you can run safely. but the general concensous is about 300whp on 10psi on a 57trim garret.
people have put 500+ whp on a stock block b18c1. its not about how much psi, in a sense, but how the tune is. if you got tuned by mase or evans tuning, you could boost 15+psi and be all fine and dandy. Make sure you get that **** tuned by someone REALLY reputable. you'll thank yourself later.

sleeving the block is for extra security. it is pretty much needed when you do go for a high boost application. you wouldn't want to risk it with a stock block. some people do, some dont.
reputable tuners in michigan: godspeed. the only one i can think of. me im in here in washington soo i dont know much out there
