Don't go by BOOST!!!

Your question should be....how much HP can my block hold?

And it has been cover many, many times.

Yes...different turbos create different power at different amounts of boost.

I've seen many different vehicles put down different HP numbers on the same engines and same boost levels, but with different turbos and setups.

Just be careful, boosting on stock internals can be risky if your tune is mild.

X2

Go look at compressor maps. You will want a turbo that will spool up by 4k so you can still us all the power.

I would recomend the GT30.

There are many variables you have to look at when buying a turbo. Search the FI section

keep it simple...get a 57trim, shorty ramhorn, full 3" exhaust and the works. Get a better turbo once you build the engine or decide what your future goals are...

The tune determines the longevity of the motor. You can't determine anything off the word "boost". Safely i'd say 250-300 whpis plausible if your block was in perfect shape and the person tuning isn't a complete retard.

I have a boosted stock internal b18b1. As stated before you dont go by "boost", you go by power. It is common place for boosted b18b1s to make around 300whp safely.

I run an inline pro manifold, garrett 60 trim with .63 ar turbine housing.

Youre not going to have problems with the engine lasting...that turbo setup is complete garbage and will fall apart long before your engine wears out

First id send that **** back and get quality parts off the sponsors in the forced induction classifieds here on HT. Those cheap kits found on EBAY usually always consist of weak manifolds and even weaker turbos that tend to fall/blow apart.

As for your engine, do a compression test and a leakdown test. Get one step colder plugs and do a tune up.

A local guy didnt believe me when i warned him about his cheap ebay turbo, 2000 miles later it blew apart while cruising on the highway covering everything with oil.

My cousin boosted his DA ls on 12psi daily on a apexi afc with dsm 450 injectors. It never blew up its still running right now. turbo was a precision sc 50 i think.

Lol a local guy has a mid 11 second turbo LS coupe running either a 60 trim or an an sc61/63 (i forget), he ran about 15-16psi daily tuned on AEM by one hell of a tuner tho. That car most likely made around 350-370whp.

A friend of mine had an LS hatch that went consistent 12.0s all day running 14lbs on a 50 trim, car made 293whp i believe.

If tuned properly IE DO NOT SKIMP ON TUNING!!!!!! A properly setup ls turbo can make 300whp all day with no problems on a healthy engine. If you want more then get a set of eagle rods (300 dollars) and a decent set of pistons from CP, JE, ARIAS, etc and have a 2/3 built engine for under 1000 and be able to make well over 400whp.
