Default safe to boost "mini-me"?

i have a 94 civic cx block w/ a 95 d16z6 head, a d16y8 head gasket that was taken apart and made single layer put on with copper spray and the z6 head studs, torqued to the z6 specs.

would this engine hold 7psi daily safe? i used to run 10 psi on full z6 until i mis shifted bad an spun a bearing. i miss the boost!

Sounds like you are in the spot I am. Threw a rod in my z6 week before last and now I am running a d15b2 bottom with my d16z6 head. Spools quicker with the compression but I have no clue what the limits are, I am giving mine 8psi and will prolly turn it up more once I get a backup block this week just because I hate it !

sweet.... makes keeping my hatch and re-boosting VERY tempting... how much faster does it spool? i was hitting 10psi at about 4600 rpm and holding strong til about 6800... then the trq died off..hitting 8psi about 4400 i think?

I never payed attention to exactly where it spooled before but my setup was a bit laggy and its noticably better now. If I go to full throttle at maybe 2500 in 3rd gear while the engine is all bogged down it would take a few seconds as the rpms slowly climb to build any boost, now its instantly at 2psi when I floor it no matter what im cruising at. In first gear or upper rpms boost is instant and im too busy drinving to pay too close attention. This would prolly be an okay setup but I dont have much faith in this old *** bottom end and it seems burning a little oil.
