Default Safe amount of boost on auto

I have a 98 auto LS and I plan on swapping the tranny sometime down the line but not anytime soon. Im curious to know (IF I BOOST) whats a safe amount of psi I ran run without hurting the tranny. Someone told me like 3-4 pounds. I just wanna know if thats true.

im not sure if the b-series auto is weaker or stronger then the d-series , so i can only talk about my old d-series auto. i had a d-series auto trans and i ran mine with up to 13lb of boost for a long time. before i had a turbo i was running a 75 shot of nitrous for over 25 bottles.

it had 100k miles when i converted to a 5 speed but i sold it. the new owner of my old auto transmission says its working perfectly.

tip: use honda auto trans fluid and change it often.

Holy crap 13lb on a stock D Trans ? Which trans and what motor was it on. and did you get the trans new or used before you installed spray?

Funny you talk about the trans lasting on those who dont launch hard often. I had those same thoughts, but never really looked into it further. I also think thats the reason why mine lasted. the frequent honda atf fluid changes im sure helped some as well.

well i never went to the dyno on my t3 setup. it was a t3-60trim on 13psi. go ahead and guess what whp that was on a d16y7. i would have to guess around 160whp for the auto trans..
