safe amount of boost

ok well im sure its on here sumwhere but i tryed searching under B16 boost /turbo and any other varyation i could think of and found nothing..well anyways i have a B16 with a THICK cometic head gasket and i was wondering about how much boost i could safely run on it with the car only being street tuned with an SAFC and dsm 450cc injectors... thanks

it's not the PSI it's the amount of whp your block can handle, Hondas are pretty good about handling boost if tuned properly (of course thats with stock internals) key is tune, you can only guess how much whp your making with *insert turbo* and then *insert engine* followed by *insert fuel management*.

exactly.....you could run 22psi of boost on a small *** turbo and it would be the same as 6psi on a big one. Its not the boost. Its the power.

yea i agree with this..its the power that the blocks will break from, not the boost...like you said, Higher boost from a small turbo may yeild the same power as a larger turbo with less boost.. the psi really is irrelevant, power isnt. Although when a motor "overboosts" the motor breaks because it runs lean and detonates..

so around 275 whp ... well what is the best way for me to tune a car with the SAFC when i dont have a dyno or nothing to run on ?
