Default Saab intercooelrs

My girlfriend has a 99 9-3 Saab. It's pretty cool. Anyway, I was looking at her intercooler and it is pretty big. She has the Viggen style intercooler, where the inlet and outlet types are on opposite sides of the intercooler (apparently some of the other stock intercoolers have the in/outlets on the same side). I did a good amount of searching never really came across any flow numbers. Does any one here have any experience with newer Saab intercoolers? The only down side to the Viggen intercooler is that it has plastic endtanks.

I guess I should explain that all the Saab enthusiasts upgrade to the Viggen FMIC. Teh only flow numbers I saw were like 80.7 CFM and then some aftermarket one said that it flowed 115 CFM. That's freaking weak!!!! I asked on one of the forums, but I don't think I'll get a very good answer since no one seems to know anything.

Here is the picture of the Viggen FMIC, it is under $200 brand new from the dealer.

Let me know what you think. Sorry if this post seems choppy and not well thought out, I am in a hurry. Thanks,
~Stu

you can still use the core. The endtanks itself isn't that great. Buy it and put on some metal/aluminum endatanks and call it a day

Yep, and I stated that in my original post. However, these Saab guys are boosting like 20+ psi and they aren't having problems with the plastic endtanks.

i can get these intercoolers for 175 bux, let meknow if you want one, the plascti endtanks, might sound cheesy but they actually hold some descent pressure, considering most people on here will only be running maybe 7-12 psi, it is a descent IC for the price

That's what I thought, thanks. Do you know how much they flow?

not exactly sure about the actual flow rate, but i know some guy on saab.net gained a 11 HP gain with just this intercooler from the stock saab one. they are descent if you ask me, i was gunna run with that intercooler, but i found a starion IC for cheap and am gunna use that instead. hope i was of some help to you
