Runnng LEAN! :(
Hey guys I have been running a ZC with a 92-95 Civic EX Greddy turbo for about a year now with no problems. Im using a Vortec 12:1 FPR.
Today I went for a spin and in 1st gear in boost I was showing rich, 2nd gear it drops to Lean at boost "Backfires a little bit to", 3rd is rich and 4th is rich, etc.
This happened to me last week also and I though it was a fluke but now Im starting to think something is up. My guess of things to check would be spark plugs, Fuel pump, fuel injectors, and FPR. Any Idea what the cause may be? Thanks!

1st off, ive said it before and ill say it again , that a/f gauge dont mean **** unless you have a wideband . trust me i almost foudn out the hard way when running the nitrous.
anyway what fuel mods do you have?
did you ever get it tuned? if not do it soon . i wouldnt even think about driving aournd a force fed car without tuning it .

Hey Pete, Only thing I have done to the engine are colder plugs, Vortec FPR, and had the timing retarded thats it. From what Greddy said this would be ok setup for the 5 pounds of boost. Like I said it worked fine for a year
Pete do you suggest any shops around our area who have a dyno with a wideband that can actually tune? Thanks

Performance specialties. IN Pottstown .
i would get more fuel management stuff man . just a fmu isnt too safe if you ask me , even at 5psi .
at least get a fpr, fuel rail and a pump maybe ? i got the whole **** and shabang becuase i dont wanna take any chances.
I got a wlabro 255 lph high pressure intank pump , aem fpr, aem fuel rail , rc 550's and hondata 4b. i know if i ever run into a probelm i can tune it out at least .
how old are your injectors and pump?

ehh might as well if you do a fpr, i like to do everything at one shot . inst4ead of just one thing piece by piece, its not like they are expensive.

check in the phone book i dont have it off hand . hes a good guy ,. he does all my tuning , hes not gonna be able to do anything with your car though other than see if its running lean or not , you dont have anything at all to tune. but it will give you an idea as to if you really are leaning out
its 45 for the hookup fee for the wideband and all the equip and like 150 an hour for dyno time .

The stock injectors might not be up to the task. A very cost effective alternative is the SMC + 450cc DSM injectors for up to 1-14psi of boost for less than $250! Visit this link for more info: SMC
