running a turbo basemap without a turbo
i was wondering if i had a i could install my phearable ecu which is tuned for 450 dsm's and my turbo setup with just the 450's and the non turbo motor till i have time to install the turbo. i was told i could do that b/c as long as boost wasn't detected the fuel and ign timing would be affected.

Re: running a turbo basemap without a turbo (killamike0001)
why dont you just wait until you get everything, and then put it all on at once? all you'd be doing is changing the ECU and injectors... a 30 minute job at most when it comes time to install the turbo setup. dont give yourself a chance to expletive up your car.

base maps are not meant to be driven on for more then a few miles to the dyno to get you tuned.
Plus any good boost map qould have you running pretty rich in the top end because it's assumed that you will be producing boost and you need to dump fuel while the turbo is spooling up.
can you install it? yes
would it be a good idea? no
was this answer in the FAQs? probably and I know it's been answer like 5 times in the past 2 weeks I've seen the threads need to search deeper

Thats because detonation under that level of power WILL ruin your motor.
As long as the basemap does not disable your O2 sensor, you should be okay to run NA, but not boost. Like any untuned NA chip that doesn't have a shitload of timing added for power, it will at worst run slightly rich or lean at WOT.
