Default running stock w/ uberdata problems, soldering problem??

I installed all the uberdata components on my ecu months ago however i didnt have the turbo set up done yet so i just didnt jump j1, today i am installing the dsm 450's and am gonna run stock w/ them. I decided to test and see if everything was ok first by burning a stock chip and just putting it into my car with the stock injectors stil in there. however it doesnt run very well at all, it sputters some and a little bit of greyish whitish smoke comes out. ne idea what the problem is? is a stock rom not perfect or is there something wrong w/ my soldering?

The stock ROMs never ran that great for me. If you can rev above 3500 and it's not throwing any codes chances are the bin and the ECU are playing nice together.

You can e-mail your .bin and I'll take a look at it. BTW, My base maps have always ran good for me and even before the my personal car was turbo'd the stock maps ran fine (UD v 1.66).

well i tried resoldering j1 and reburning the chip a couple times, same results:

-wont rev past about 4200 and when i do take it that high theres a backfire
-sputters somewhat, and just a little smoke
-CEL tried checkin it but it stayed solid, maybe i didnt quite trip it, gotta push that paper clip in there hard

any ideas? this is just opening the stockLS bin, importing the P06 bin and then burning the chip, so whats goin on??

hey start off with the gsr bin and then import the p06 bin. The LS bin is gay, sometimes causes dumb results. I had this happen before.

Yeah, I started with the GSR, loaded the P28 bin then removed vtec, that worked best when I wasn't turboed. You're soldering J1 right? Not just sticking it in there.

that is your problem. You are throwing an ecu error code. It is a code 0. Check over all your solder connections. One of them is probably not right.

yea im almost definatly sure its a soldering problem, pulled the chip out after reburning a few times and different ways and started the car completly without it but j1 still jumped and it ran the same way so its definatly a solder problem, flow isnt getting to the chip at all, im gonna check over it and try to get some pics up tommorow

Open a new map and save it and burn it. Some times maps do not save right. Solid CEL can be bad burn or bad map. Like others said, recheck your soldered connections too.

That's odd, I threw a stock GSR map on my b16 with a gsr head and it ran fine. .

quick update, did some going over the old soldering today, some connections probobally wernt sufficient and maybe somemore arnt either, got home burnt a new chip, jumped j1 and started her up, difference is i can rev throughout the rpm range now, still gettting a high idle, and a code 0, so i guess theres still some soldering problems??? but i fixed a few i suppose

im gettin frustrated now, went back over all the connectoins, everything looks good, im starting to think i might have a bad burn, somehow im not burning my chip right, while j1 is jumpd and chip is in, theres a CEL, and it idles funny, if i go out and drive, then when i get back and pull into the garage, its idleing normal again, just like nothing was wrong, but still the CEL, also some somke when j1 is jumped, but thats it, funny idle right at the begining, CEL and smoke, is it possible the cel is from a bad chip? ne ides or insight would be great

yea i saw a couple spots of concern on the harness, couple of stirped back wires where i supposed the previous owner hacked in there for something

i brought my burner to school today and installed the burner here becuase i dont think i installed it correctly at home which woulda given me a bad burn, so ill try the chip i burned here and also gonna get some pics up this afternoon

also, how can i attach the bin im burning so u guys can look and make sure im not making a bonehead mistake in there somehwere

You can host it on a server where we can download it.

ok the latest, w/ the chip burned from my schools comp and the burner properly installed there, the ECU code 0 is gone!! yes, so when i put the car into the on position the fuel pump comes on, no more buzzing sound, and the CEL goes off, But when i start the car it starts idling high and then throws a code three map sensor, so im hoping this is just a problem w/ my bin, the bin im talking about now i made using 1.70 stock gsr import p06 then uncheck vtec stuff, im about to try 1.66 and ill let u know how it goes

EVERYTHING NOW WORKING!

thanks for everybodys imput, i had a wire harness problem on my map sensor signal wire, fixed that and its all good, runs JUST like stock, cant even tell a differnce, so now on to installing the dsm injectors and running them stock, we'll see how that goes. From what i logically understand i guess you just open a stock bin, go to the tap thats got the injector caculator and just punch in 450 for new inj size? then burn

thanks for ur help once more

That's right, enter new injector size, hit apply, check the bin over to make sure everything looks OK and re-burn. You'll have to tweak it a bit and you might want to change the tip-in fuel percentage to 53 or 60% or somewhere in there or you'll notice some larger gas consumption during everyday driving
