Runing off wastegate
Currently i have a boosted LS... all the parts were purchased seperatly but the car is runing strong and great.. According to my boost gauge im at 6psi.. so im guessing a got a 6lbs spring.. I want to kno if i can upgrade to a 10lbs spring without upgrading the map sensor? or should i upgrade to a 3bar first?

Re: Runing off wastegate
All you'll need to do is get it tuned if you put the 10lbs spring in it. No need to buy a 3bar unless you plan to go higher in the near future.

i think the stock map sensor will trip at 8lbs( at least mine did). u can try getting the spring first but be knowing that u may need the MAP also..

Re: Runing off wastegate
stock map sensor depending on the software will read 10-11 psi.
whats the setup? what turbo, manifold, engine etc......
some setups you can run a 9 psi and get 11 and some you can run a 11psi and get 9-10 so post up what your runnign and people can give you a better idea.
either way it will need to be tuned to your desired boost level and not just slap in a spring and run it

If your getting 6 psi on your guage and you have a front mount intercooler setup you prob have a 8 psi spring you loose some pressure from turbo outlet, to intake mani. You can get a 3, or 4bar map if you want it all depends on what you want for boost. And your stock map tuned on crome, hondata ext will read 10 psi only.
like TURBO- LS said above post your setup i will let us know more info, i have a sc6262 with a 15 psi spring and just off the spring the car runs 19 psi an extra 4 psi, things very wit def setups

Who street tuned the car? Running an extra 4psi of boost you will def need more fuel unless they tuned it very conservatively. If you don't have the cash to tune it on 10psi, DO NOT put the spring in it until you do have the cash to tune it.
There are people that spend all this money on a turbo kit but then cheap out on the most important part of the turbo setup which is the tune and then wonder why their car blew up.
If you don't have the money to tune the car i.e dyno tune it, don't upgrade the spring or even boost the car at all.
