Default RPM Service 72mm T/B issues....anyone else

well on the new motor build i swapped out my bored our GSR throttle body for an RPM Service 72mm. Now after, i got the started the car has a horrible fluctuation in idle.

it idles from like 1000-1600, almost sounds like an IACV issue, but i get no CELs, at all.

i checked for vacuum leaks, i pressurized the intercooler piping and intake manifold with 50psi of air and i have no vacuum leaks at all.

im going to do a valve adjustment on the car since the motor is broke in because i believe my valvetrain is a bit too tight

also this RPM T/Body has no FITV on the bottom, if that makes a difference

and this is the model im using just in 72MM

Make sure you have the right gasket and that the TPS is set correctly. If you have the gasket for the t/b with the fitv, i don't think it'll seal right on that t/b.

2 of 2 our builds with that throttlebody have problems with idle.
Now the TB shaft (inside TB) broke.

what gasket can you use on something like that tony? i was thinking of either making one, or just using some liquid gasket maker, as ghetto as that sounds! im using the "outlaw engineering" thermal gasket, and it seems to cover enough, even tho i had to trim the inside out, to almost nothing

i will check that when i get home from work tonight, good call, i wasnt even thinking of that. just started the new motor up for the first time and was trying to just get her to warm up.

don't blame it on the TB. You just don't know how to set it up....

EDIT: Problem fixed!

my dumb fault, when i trimmed the gasket to fit the T/B, i accidentally trimmed too far and got into the IACV and FITV air passages.

idles fine now

i had something ridiculous like 72mm str tb with no problems. its really not needed. im shooting for 800whp with a 63.5mm throttle body.
