Ross pistons use the same ring set-up as oem and other aftermarket pistons. They are not missing anything.

I am currently running Ross pistons and also work as a machinist so heres a list of a few things-
1. didnt machine/at least hone cylinders- they will never seat right- always suppost to rehone for new rings.
2. didnt break in right? what oil did you use?
3. Right size pistons? wrong piston wall / ring gap clearances, depending on bore size and material of piston wether it is low silone- high silicone- they expand differently.
4. rings may not be positioned in correct positions.
5. a lot of times pistons are not all exact. You generally have to mic every piston and bore and hone accordingly. sometimes they can be up to .001-.002 off- but ross is a great company- so i wouldnt expect that from them-
