Rookie with boost. Need advice.
Heard this was the spot where all the honda Gurus are and I need some advice. This is what I have: 97 accord ex Drag turbo kit with everything connect ie. FMU, pusher pump. VAFC2(not hacked), Crane hi6s with 1bar map for BPR at .5/psi, -18% hi vtec 3000 to red. Dyno 181whp 184 tq a/f 11.8 to 12.2 Ran 1/4 14.7 @ 95mph 2.3 60'. So what do I need to do to get more power on lo budget? Can I just up the boost and just tune what I got as long as the A/F is 11.5 to 12.5 range? Or it go boom?
Thanks
Thanks

Pretty much. Some say its safe to boost up to 14 psi on stock internals as long as it's tuned well.
I'd build the engine if you want a lot more power though.
Also, look into better engine management.

yeah get a better engine managment and you will notice a difference . . . toss the FMU, and get some bigger injectors, and use the vafc to tune them. You should be some what near 200whp.
You got a f22b1 correct?
8.8:1 compression
145hp @ 5500rpms
147trq @ 4500rpms
those motors have wicked low compression resulting in less power gains per lb of boost, but with compression that low you should be able to turn up the boost, just make sure you got a good fuel managment setup. I would change out the internals and up the compression some to the mid 9's and you'll see a lot more power

Re: Rookie with boost. Need advice. (Tektoy)
Thanks for the input. I do have the f22b1 stock internals 94k miles on it. Running 6psi now. I see most of the posts are for b & d series motors, would the same advice relate to mine? What fuel management options could I use besides the AEM ECM? Why is an FMU so hated here would it not handle 10psi? Where are some good priced options?
Thanks for any feedback or links to previous posts.

FMUs are just unpredictable and put more unecessary presure in your fuel system. I have had a FMU in my turbo Honda and on the dyno it would would run lean and other times it would run overly rich. Standalone will allow you to obtain optimum power on any low budget setup, as well as when you are working with stock internals.
