I Seen guys boost as hi as 25psi with LS Rod in D16...Eagle Rods should handle about 500hp which is like 30psi in a D,with either choice u cant go wrong for a 12psi motor.
What about pistons? I'm also planning to do a low budget engine build on a d16z6 bottom end and d16y8 head and GReddy kit for now (T3 later). I was planning to use shot peened ls rods, what pistons would be good for 12-15 psi with this setup?

Stock sleeves won't like 12psi very long. Invest in a blockguard and tuning and you'll be ALOT safer.

I believe that D-Man, so many think you HAVE to upgrade internals for moderate boost levels. I disagree. If the tuning is proper, and detonation is not a factor, 12Psi on a D16 will run safely.
Check my signature.. Link tuning products are cheap, and much much easier to tune than a Hondata, without all the hastles of burning roms, using laptops, etc.. tune on the fly with the keypad that you connect to the Link ECU (or use a laptop if you really *really* find it necessary to), and save all tuning data into the link's EEPROM. That's it. My car was tuned for boost within an hour with a tuner just from driving on the freeway! Link engine management have a wide range of units for all Honda engines (D16 inclusive!) also for Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Mazda (Link ECUs are famous for turbocharged Miatas)
People shouldn't think that Hondata and the AEM EMS to be the **** for honda engine management. There are many others out there which work just as well, if not, better. Don't be so narrow minded when selecting standalone engine management, do some research!!!
