Default Rods choice

Ok so here is the situation, im gonna take my itr engine out as it only has 40k miles, being 6k boosted.

Since the engine is still in great shape i plan on using it to build a hatch for some track days and such. Going Ls/vtec so i got a ls block sleeved to 84mm by GE and im gonna use CP pistons but my doubt is which rods to use, my choices are pauter or eagle.

After doing research i can see as far as non budget limited most would probably go with pauters but since my goal is around 450whp i wonder if its really worth the extra investment on the pauters for this kind of power?

The car will never see more more than that power and i´ll probably run a low boost setting for 300 and a high boost for 450.

Some feedback would be appreciated guys

For your power goals you should go with eagle. Thats plenty of rod for your HP goal. Very affordable rod and performance is great

id go with eagles.
im actually doing a similar build, but wanting 350whp daily and maybe like 500 on high boost. i did a complete overbuild with aebs sleeves, o-ringed, pauter rods, cp pistons, and a bunch of other things that are unneccessary

I agree with the others... for that power, id go with eagles...

anything higher, its all in how much you wanna pay...
after the eagles.. id go with crower, manley, pauter...
in that order, as the power gets higher..
I had Eagles last year, this year for my 500+ goals, i spent the extra money on the pauters just for piece of mind, and for not having to rip my motor apart when i wanna go higher then i would trust the eagles...

This is just my opinion... some people will tell you that they trust the eagles for 600+ whp.... I personally would not..

The reason for thinking about the pauters is exactly for the peace of mind, not swimming in money but i dont wanna cheap out on something important.
Not saying eagle sucks

eagles are great rods, they just got a bad name for their rod bolt failure a while back, but they changed them to ARP rod bolts a long time ago and everything has been smooth from the people I have talked with. I have seen people with 675 whp with them.

Plus you can't beat the price.
