Rev limiter??
Ok, I'm not quite turbo yet. But I have a dilemma I would like to tackle here. I have a chipped OBD1 ECU that doesnt have a rev-limiter. I know this can be real bad for F/I cars. Figure if I mis-shift at high RPM's or forget to look at the tach when boosting in 1st gear, well then--there goes the motor. I am wondering what I can use as a rev limiter? Obviously I will want something that cuts ignition and not fuel, for detonation reasons.
What should I get, I dont think I really need a spark box like an MSD6AL or anything of that nature. What I was thinking was possibly the MSD RPM activated switch. Or for even more fun the 2Step for high RPM hold for launching off the line ( ala Hondata ).
What do you guys think. Oh, and please dont tell me to buy a Hondata--I dont have mad money like some of you guys.....

The main thing you have to worry about is floating your valves which will burn them. You can use the MSD RPM switch and pills to prevent that.
